Santolo beach is a beach with white sand located in the sub-district of Cikelet, district of Garut, West Java. To reach the location, takes about 3.5 hours from  Garut or about 88 km. Coolness landscapes and winding roads typical of the mountains will be a beautiful object on the way to the Santolo beach. Not only that, forests with various species of trees, farmland, and steep cliffs which will accompany the journey to one of the popular beaches in Garut.

Santolo beach region became a gathering place of traditional fishermen and dock (port) fishing vessels in Pameungpeuk area. In addition, there is a station-owned rocket launch site LAPAN (Lembaga Penerbangan Antariksa Nasional). White sand stretching from west to east adds to the beauty of this beach. Calm waves make the traveler more comfortable. Own pleasure while enjoying the sunset in the vast expanse of white sand.

In the southern, there is Santolo Island located just Santolo Beach area, separated by a small river estuary which has called Muara Cilauteureun. This estuary is popular because unlike other estuaries, the water in the estuary is seawater that flows to the mainland. That said, the estuary as it is only found in two places, there are Santolo Garut and French. Not only white sand and clear water, but filled with rocks make this island a convenient place for camping.

There are several public transport to go to the beach Santolo. Multiple paths that can be passed on to the beach Santolo, there are:
a. Route Garut
  - Garut - Cikajang - Cikelet - Pameungpeuk
b. Route Bandung
  - Bandung - Canning - Rancabuaya - Santolo
  - Bandung - Ranca Bali - Naringgul - Cidaun - Rancabuaya - Santolo
In addition, there are inns in Santolo beach area with affordable prices and the seafood dishes overlooking the beach will make natural atmosphere is quiet and comfortable.

Mount Bromo and Whispering Sands


Mount Bromo is one of the mountains in east Java that have exotic and spectacular scenery. Mount Bromo is located in the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park, protected and preserved by the government as a natural tourist attraction. The mountain is located in the Tengger Mountains. Tengger mountain which is the largest and highest mountain at that time, there was a small explosion that formed a large valley and deep, which finally emerged several mountain, Mount Bromo (2.392 m), Mount Widodaren (2.614 m), Mount Watangan (2.601 m), Mount Kursi (2.581 m), and Mount Batok (2.581 m). However, there are also several surrounding mountains, such as Mount Pananjakan (2,770 m), Mount Cemorolawang, Mount Lingker (2,278 m), Mount Pundak Lembu (2,635 m), Mount Jantur (2,705 m), Mount Ider-ider (2,527 m) and Mount Mungal (2,480 m). In the Jambangan Mountains there are Mount Lanang (2,313 m), Mount Ayek-ayek (2819 m), Mount Panggonan Cilik (2,883 m), Mount Keduwung (2,334 m), Mount Jambangan (3,020 m), Mount Widodaren (2,000 m) , Mount Kepolo (3,035 m), Mount Malang (2,401 m), and Mount Semeru (3,676 m).

Known as "Whispering Sands", Mount Bromo has 2,392 meters high above sea level and is located in 4 districts of East Java, there are Probolinggo, Pasuruan, Malang, and Lumajang. Although located in 4 different areas, but the peak of Mount Bromo located at Probolinggo. Sunrise will be an awesome view and never forgotten when reach the peak of Mount Bromo.

a. From Probolinggo to Mount Bromo
  - Tongas – Lumbang – Sukapura –  Ngadisari- Cemoro Lawang – Gunung Bromo
  - Ketapang – Patalan – Sukapura – Ngadisari- Cemoro Lawang – Gunung Bromo
b. From Pasuruan to Mount Bromo
  - Wonorejo – Warungdowo –  Tosari – Wonokitri – Pananjakan – Gunung Bromo
c. From Malang to Mount Bromo
  - Tumpang – Gubuk Klakah – Jemplang - Penanjakan –  Gunung Bromo
d.  From Lumajang to Mount Bromo
  - Senduro – Bumo – Ranu Pane – Gunung Bromo
If using personal vehicle, please be careful because the road is steep and dangerous. However, all of that will pay off when it arrived at Mount Bromo. Lodging around the Mount Bromo too much, there are hotel and guesthouse. The travellers can camping around it or also permit to stay in the Tengger tribe house.

The beautiful sunrise can be enjoyed at Mount Bromo, usually travellers go to the Mount Penanjakan because this place is the most beautiful location to enjoying the sunrise with the background of Mount Bromo and Mount Semeru. After enjoying the sunrise, travellers have to wade through the sand and stop in the valley of Mount Bromo exactly. When wading through the sand, travellers will pass Mount Batok and a place of worship temple Tengger tribe. Arrived at the valley of Mount Bromo, travellers must be walk or horse riding to get to the crater, after that travellers will find stairs that must be passed to reach the edge of the crater of Mount Bromo. And enjoy the beautiful views of the crater which is always white smoke coming out.

Do not forget to visit the Teletubbies hill behind of Mount Bromo. Teletubbies hill is a savanna surrounded by a row of hills overgrown by grass beautifully. The shape that resembles a hill in the Teletubbies movie, make this hill known as Teletubbies hill. Besides the mountains, hills, temples, valleys, craters, sand, there are a variety of flora and fauna are protected by the government. Aiming to preserve their habitat in order to stay awake. BATIK, Symbolic Culture of Indonesia


Batik is a painting that is drawn on cloth using wax. Batik is a art and culture of Indonesian who have been around a long time. Batik become symbolic of the culture of Indonesia (especially Java). Batik has been recognized by the world as a heritage of the world after getting recognition from UNESCO (Unites Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural) is one of the world organizations which handles of education, science and culture. The patents of batik was acquired on October 2, 2009, so that Indonesia has set October 2 as the Day of National Batik.

Batik is Javanese, that consists of two words, that is "amba" meaning "writing" and "titik" which means "point". Therefore, batik is known from Java. In the past, batik skills used as the livelihood of women Javanese. Initially, tradition of batik is a hereditary tradition. Patterns of batik can be seen from the family of origin of the batik, sometimes also indicate the status of a person. The patterns can also be known from where the batik is made. Thus, each region has a certain characteristic pattern of batik. Even some pattern of traditional batiks are only used by the royal family of Yogyakarta and Surakarta.

Make a batik are using wax with the help of a tool called canting. It called by Batik Tulis. Process is too long about 2 to 3 months, as it requires good skills and produce satisfying of quality. But now, there are other ways to make a batik, usually called by the Batik Cap is painting batik on the fabric was formed with stamp (usually made of copper) and the process is approximately 2 to 3 days. Now there is one more way of make a batik is painting batik on the white fabric directly, which is commonly called as Batik Lukis. There are criteria to make a batik such as selecting the materials, type of wax, canting size which is used.

There are a lot of pattern batik in Indonesia, there are Batik Kraton, Batik Sekar Jagad, Batik Sida Luhur, Batik Cuwiri, Batik Farmer, Batik Tambal, Batik Kawung, Batik Pringgondani, Batik Sida Drajat, Batik Sida Asih, Batik Sida Mukti, Batik Sudagaran, Batik Semen Rama, and many others. While the origin of batik too much, such as Batik Pekalongan, Batik Solo, Batik Malang, Batik Madura, Batik Banten, Batik Kudus, Batik Jepara, Batik Cirebon, Batik Aceh, and others. A city dubbed as the city of Batik is Pekalongan because Batik of Pekalongan has a style that is distinctive and varied than in other cities.


Generally, batik used to variety of events, such as traditional ceremony and wedding. But now, switch the function a lot of things such as for clothing, batik bag, batik sandal, batik hat, batik bed cover, and many others. This is to indicate the pride of Indonesia to Indonesian culture is very strong.

Firstly, batik is introduced to the world by President H. M. Soeharto while attending a PBB conference. Formerly, patterns of batik used are very limited, but now there are many pattern and modern variations. However, old patterns of batik that traditional batik has its own characteristics, such as the pattern is a spesific symbolic, use a little color, etc.

MONAS (Monumen Nasional), Icon Indonesia


MONAS (Monumen Nasional / National Monument) is a monument at the same time the iconic museum Indonesia and Jakarta. This monument was founded by Ir. Sukarno, Indonesia's first president in memory of resistance and struggle of the people of Indonesia won independence from the Dutch East Indies. Obelisk-shaped monument is coated with Italian marble, crowned with a gilded flame symbolizes the spirit of fiery struggle. Located at Merdeka Square - Jakarta Pusat, Monas construction began on August 17, 1961 and opened to the public on July 12, 1975.

Friedrich Silaban and R. M. Soedarsono became the architect of the construction of this magnificent monument, built in the form of Lingga and Yoni on demand President Ir. Soekarno. Towering Monas full Lingga symbolizes typical Indonesian Nation culture, while the court of the cawan symbolizes the Yoni is a household appliance that almost every house there on the indigenous population of Indonesia. Lingga and Yoni is a symbol of fertility and the most complete harmonious unity of prehistoric Indonesia. Height reaches 132 meters and crown flames reached 14.5 tons weight 35 Kilograms of gold coated on this monument gives a fiery passion never goes out to the people of Indonesia in order to be proud of and defend this nation of Indonesia.

Medan Merdeka field which became the location of the monument is the pride of Indonesia experienced five times the renaming, begin with Gambir field, Ikada field, Merdeka field, Monas field, and now the Monas park. The transport to reach the Monas Park is very easy because it located at the center of Jakarta. Even there Gambir Station used for transport inter-city . If using air plane, from Soekarno-Hatta and Halim Perdanakusuma airport already contained transportation passes Monument Park.

The Monas Park is always crowded, from morning to night. In addition to the museum and monument with reliefs, in this park there is also a fountain, statues, and a field for sports. In this park there is also a lot of sellers, food and beverages, t-shirts, unique items that can be used as souvenirs travelers visiting the Monas.

Visitors can see the beauty of the city of Jakarta from Monas top court. To get into Monas, must go through the entrance to Monas. Once inside, there are stairs going down to the counter inside Monas. There are two counters that bought tickets to the top court to the court of cawan Monas or admission to the court of cawan only. The counter officer will give you a bracelet on hand as a sign of hours of admission of visitors to the top of the monument on the court to avoid the queues density visitors. Upon purchase admission tickets, there is a tunnel that must pass to get to the Monas. End of the tunnel is that surrounding the Monas yards are reliefs and sculptures depicting the history of Indonesia. It aims to capture the archipelago in the past glories of the past kingdoms in Indonesia.

While waiting for the queue to get to the top court of the Monas appropriate of time, visit to the National History Museum, located in the basement of Monas. There are stairs down to go to the National History Museum. In which there are 51 dioramas that show the history of Indonesia since the pre-history to the New Order. Having waiting in line to get to the top of the monument using one elevator that has been provided to take visitors toward the top court or otherwise. Arrived at the court of the top, visitors can enjoy views of the Jakarta. Visitors can not enjoy the view of the Jakarta in the night from top court of Monas because Monument and Museum is open from morning to evening only.

Arriving at the court of cawan, visitors can also enjoy the city of Jakarta from a height of 17 meters above the ground. Jakarta, Capital of Indonesia


Jakarta is the number 1 in Indonesia. Located in the northwestern part of the island of Java. Other names before jakarta, namely Sunda Kelapa (before 1527), Jayakarta (1527-1619), Batavia / Batauia or Jaccatra (1619-1942), Jakarta Store Betsu Shi (1942-1945), and Djakarta (1945-1972), then became Jakarta until now.

Monas (Monumen Nasional) as an icon of Jakarta located in downtown Jakarta. Monument has a height of 132 meters was set up in memory of the people's struggle for Indonesian independence struggle against the Dutch colonial power.

This metropolitan city became the center of government, politics, business, and culture. Jakarta as the largest city in Indonesia also have the best transportation system, infrastructure, education, tourism, and the media. In addition, there are many ethnic groups residing in Jakarta, such as ethnic Javanese, Betawi, Sundanese, Tionghoa, Batak, Minangkabau, Banten, Malay, and many others.

In addition, almost every day there is traffic jam at some spot Jakarta, because of the large population and transportation. Being the main visit foreign countries, this city has two airports (Soekarno-Hatta and Halim Perdanakusuma Airport) and Tanjung Priok sea port.
